We discover, develop, translate, and disseminateknowledge to address societal concerns and train the next generation of expertsand leaders in a way that empowers them to expand the boundaries of science tohigher levels of understanding and influence.</span></p><p style="text-align: left"><span style="font-family: Arial"><strong>Be a part of our story. </strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial"><br><h4>Job Summary</h4>Manage all functions related to the student experience in the Agricultural Leadership Education and Communications program for online learning in the graduate and undergraduate contexts including teaching online courses, advising online Master's seeking students, and developing and marketing online certificates. <h4><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong></h4><ul><li>Teaching: <ul><li>Teach 2-3 courses and develop online graduate or undergraduate offerings.</li><li>Serve as lead instructor or co-instructor for asynchronous and/or synchronous online courses.</li><li>Provide oversight of grading in credit-bearing courses.</li><li>Review courses, course components, and analytics of non-credit courses (e.g., Coursera) and propose revisions to improve completion rates.</li><li>Develop and revise courses and course materials to comply with accessibility standards by incorporating universal design principles, alternative text, and other accessible formats to support diverse learning needs.</li><li>Create instructional materials for Zoom live sessions (e.g., breakout groups, polls, slides, and other assets). </li></ul></li><li>Academic advising and support for the online M.S. Program and the ALEC online graduate certificates including:<ul><li>Develop systems to support learners who are interested in the online degree, certificate programs, and non-degree pathways.</li><li>Support prospective new students through the application, admissions, and course registration processes.</li><li>Advise current students in online programs (e.g., monthly email communication or open office hours with all students, once a semester 1:1 advising appointments).</li><li>Create and implement a student support model for onboarding new students (e.g., develop online tutorials, technical documentation, offer training sessions, and curate student support resources for email distribution and web content).</li><li>Develop Slate communications to promote the online certificates and degree programs.</li><li>Work with course scheduler and faculty to add courses to Banner each academic term.</li><li>Communicate with faculty and departmental coordinators to stay up to date on program and curriculum changes.</li><li>Design new promotional materials for the portfolio of ALEC online educational programs (e.g., degrees, certificates, and non-credit courses).</li></ul></li><li>Recruitment and program service including:<ul><li>Develop recruitment and marketing for the online graduate and certificate programs using appropriate online and face to face recruitment and marketing techniques.</li><li>Serve as a member of the ALEC teaching faculty and program curriculum committees.</li><li>Work closely with the Director for Graduate Studies, Director for Undergraduate Studies and departmental committees in the management of the online undergraduate and graduate curricula.</li><li>Provide instructional support to faculty in designing interactive class session activities to create a high engagement learning experience.</li><li>Collaborate with ACES leadership to advance Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility efforts including creation and implementation of innovative programming to diversify student enrollment across all ALEC online programs.</li></ul></li></ul><h4><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></h4><ul><li>Master's degree in agricultural leadership, education or communications disciplines, education, or a related discipline. </li><li>Two (2) years of experience working in education.</li></ul><h4> <strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h4><ul><li>Experience with online academic programs.</li><li>Experience working with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas and Coursera), Illinois Media Space, Box, and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Teams, Word, PowerPoint).<br><br></li></ul><h4>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</h4><ul><li>Excellent communication skills.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives independently.</li><li>Understanding of academic affairs rules and processes.</li><li>Project management skills, including leading, managing, organizing, and successfully completing multiple projects simultaneously.</li><li>Familiarity with higher education data, enrollment, and admissions systems.</li></ul></span></p><h4><span style="font-family: Arial"><strong>Appointment Information</strong></span></h4><p><span style="font-family: Arial">This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible. Salary is competitive and commensurate withqualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Thesalary range for this position $50,000 - $60,000. Sponsorship for work authorization is not availablefor this position.
